About Me

Raised in Fresno, California, also known as “The dumbest city in America,” I attended the very high school that educated such visionaries as Kevin Federline and... nope, that’s it. So as one can see, the bar was set pretty high.

From an early age, I was always interested in storytelling, and I definitely watched an unhealthy amount of television. Luckily, my older brother became a doctor so my strict Chinese parents let me off the hook to pursue whatever I wanted. So after graduating from UC San Diego in 2006 with a degree in Film & Video, I moved to Los Angeles to chase my dreams.

I began rigorously writing spec scripts and originals while grinding a living at the poker table. Later, I worked as a production assistant on an assortment of television shows. Most notably, while at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, I was blessed with the opportunity to play the occasional “token Asian guy” whenever a sketch required one as well as submit jokes for Jay’s opening monologue.

Fortunately, my writing and determination eventually lead to being selected as a participant in the 2010 Disney | ABC Television Writing Program. While in the program, I was hired on as a staff writer for the second season of the hit ABC sitcom, Cougar Town. There, I wrote my very first produced episode of television entitled “Damaged By Love,” which aired in May 2011.

In June 2011, I went on to write a freelance episode entitled "Story Time" for the Disney Channel sitcom hit, Good Luck Charlie. My success there and the positive relationships I fostered at Disney Channel lead me to my current job as a staff writer on the upcoming sitcom, Austin & Ally -- set to premiere in December 2011.
